Praise to Our Lord Jesus Christ. I am Fr. Binamungu the parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker Kangemi. I welcome you all to listen to today’s Gospel May 18 the Monday of the sixth week of Easter. A reading from the Gospel according to John 15:26-16:4.

““When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning.  “I HAVE said these things to you to keep you from stumbling. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, an hour is coming when those who kill you will think that by doing so they are offering worship to God.  And they will do this because they have not known the Father or me.  But I have said these things to you so that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you about them”. The Gospel of the Lord.

Praise to Our Lord Jesus Christ! Let us now have a brief reflection of the Gospel, we have just read. Jesus, tells his disciples that when the Holy Spirit comes, who is the helper and the Spirit of truth. There will, be many of those who will give witness to the teaching of Christ. The Spirit of truth will witness Jesus, as at the mean time his disciples would have already witnessed him, since they have been with him all the day before. Meaning the Holy Spirit and the disciples will continue being the witnesses of Jesus; who tells them how will you give witness to me? Do not allow yourself to give up or surrender because of those people who go against the plans and the will of God.

“You will be expelled from the synagogues and anyone who will kill you, he/she may seem exercising a devotion to God”. All these hatred happens in our families and places of works too. You find yourself blamed of the good acts or am blamed of everything that I do. Am not appreciated at any point, my recompense is equivalent to bad thoughts and insults; having done my duty. There is no anyone who values and sees all the good I do. When all these happens to you never give up or surrender, as Jesus has foretold all these mistreatments. In addition, it is good to remember, he has fought for you and the Holy Spirit will fight for you too, remain strong and firm. Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ!
