SJDP through its education intervention has ensured support and retention of about 300 students in pre-primary, primary, secondary and tertiary schools during the 2022 academic year.

Out of the 109 beneficiaries of Upendo at the primary school, the program had a total of 18 students in Class 8 who sat for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) at St. Joseph Primary School in Kangemi.

The best performing student from the school was Upendo beneficiary who managed to score 383 out of the possible 500 marks. 11 out of the 18 Upendo students who sat for the examination managed to score 300 marks and above. All the students are eagerly waiting to join secondary school when schools resume for the 2023 academic year.

Likewise, at St Joseph Technical Secondary School, 19 students sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) examinations. The majority acquired the minimum entry points to join University. It is worth noting that we were able to register the highest mean of 9.86 in Computer Studies in the five years of sitting K.C.S.E.

We are grateful to all our partners, collaborators, friends and well-wishers who for years have supported us in the extending the offer of quality education to the neediest children in Kangemi Slums and beyond.
